How to Eliminate Cholesterol Deposits Around Your Eyes

The cholesterol deposits that you can see around your eyes are fat swelling that develops under the skin, usually in the inner canthus of the upper eyelid. These are known as xanthelasma.

For people who have high cholesterol, cirrhosis or diabetes, it’s a higher risk of developing this problem.

Cholesterol deposits around the eyes are more common among people aged between 40 and 60 years. If the cause is high blood cholesterol, you should take some steps to lower your cholesterol levels.

The best and most popular home treatment for xanthelasma is garlic. Enzymes present in garlic help to flatten small fat deposits. Garlic is also beneficial in reducing high cholesterol. Crush a few garlic cloves to make a paste. Apply it on the affected area and cover with a gauze so that the garlic doesn’t get in the eye. Leave it for 10 -15 minutes, then wash with warm water. Repeat this process once a day, for a few days. You can also eat 2 to 3 cloves of raw garlic on your naked stomach. If you prefer to take a garlic supplement, always consult your doctor. Don’t use garlic on your skin for long time, because can burn your skin.

Banana peels

To dissolve the deposits of cholesterol around the eyes in a safe and natural way, banana peels are very effective. The peel has strong antioxidant properties and the enzymes from it helpĀ  to dissolve naturally the fat deposits. Cut a small piece of banana peel. Carefully place the inside of the peelĀ  over the cholesterol deposit. Use a bandage to fix the peel and leave it overnight. The following morning, remove the peel and wash the area with water. The process should be repeated every night until the swelling is no longer visible.


Almonds have the potential to reduce the level of cholesterol in the body, they are also effective in reducing the cholesterol spots around the eyes. Add a little milk to 1 teaspoon of almond powder, in order to form a paste. Apply on affected area and allow to dry. With a wet finger, rub gently on the paste. This process should be repeated once a day.
